Colt

Owner - Ali Molitor

“….when a few wild dogs took it upon themselves to watch over man, to bark when he’s in danger, to run and play with him when he’s happy, to nuzzle him when he’s lonely. That’s why they call us man’s best friend.”

Shadow, Walt Disney's Homeward Bound

This is Colt. He is almost 5 years old but according to the chart at the vet’s office, he’s more in his late 30’s. I refer to him as my fluffy mutt but we think he’s a mix between a German Shepherd and a Collie. Colt came my way when I was a junior at ECU when I adopted him from the Pitt County Animal Shelter at just 8 weeks old. A few of his favorite things include carrots, ice cubes, peanut butter and sitting directly in the sunlight.

Colt comes just about as loyal as can be. He follows me around everywhere I go, even if I’m just walking around the apartment, and makes sure I’m always in his line of sight. Unlike Coulson, Colt does, in fact, enjoy long walks on the beach and will do just about anything for a treat. Whoever said diamonds are a girl’s best friend clearly never owned a dog!
